Prescotts to Close

After 124 years in business, Prescott Furniture located at 149 W. Main St. in Cambridge will close its doors this coming May. The furniture store, started in 1881 by J.A. England on the opposite side of Main Street, offered furniture as well as undertaking services. The Prescott Mall, which now houses such other businesses as The Koshkonong Art Gallery, is in the process of being sold to a local buyer who plans to add more stores to the space where Prescott Furniture resides now.
