You hear stories about young people overcoming struggles in tehir lives, but for a yound man with Sturge Weber Syndrome who is legally blind, the challenges are twice or three times as many. Twenty-year-old Justin Johnson was born with Sturge Weber Syndrome. Many know this birth defect as a birthmark that covers a part of the body. In Johnson’s case, his birthmark covers his face. Some mornings he wakes up and his face is so swollen that his eyes are literally swollen shut. Those with Sturge Weber Syndrome also tend to suffer from chronic sinus infections and eye infections, as well as other limitations, depending on where the birthmark is located on the body.
