14 Years of Celebrating Clay and the Ceramic Arts
Welcome to the 14th annual Cambridge Pottery Festival and U.S. Pottery Games, held annually in the quaint village of Cambridge and located in the south central part of Wisconsin. The CPF has grown from a collaboration of local potters into an event of international renown.
Located in Cambridge’s West Side Park, the CPF will exhibit the finest of pottery wares. From large wood fired vessels to delicate porcelain teacups and striking Raku, artists from around the US will present their work.
What began 14 years ago as a flame in a local potters eye, the CPF has grown with three goals in mind, to educate the public on pottery awareness, the importance of Ceramic Education in our schools, and to hold the best “ALL CLAY” festival.
Beginning every winter, artisits submit an application and slides to be juried. Along with slide quality, the judging is based on the following criteria; technical expertise in the processing or materials used, sophistication of form, aesthetic appeal, artistic enhancements of glazes and surface treatments and most importantly, individual style. Each year as the competition grows; the quality of craftsmanship becomes increasingly unique.
The Cambridge Pottery Festival is a Non-profit organization run by two sisters, Wendy Brabender and Peggy Klingbeil and a hand full of dedicated family and friends.
