Shultz wins first round of triple 60s

Dean Shultz of Juneau bested a field of 33 late models and now owns the lead in the Pepsi Triple 60’s series. Schultz, a former late model track champion, was paired on the front row with defending champion Andy Wendt. at the drop of the green flag, Schultz grabbed the early lead and never looked back. Wendt gave chase but simply couldn’t make the outside work. With the front pair pulling away, Ron Bishofberger drove hard to the inside taking away third place from Jim Syvrud.

In the bandit feature in which there were more cars than laps. Linda Carignan and Mathew Reuter led the 18-car field into 15 laps of feature racing action.
Bryan Jonhson would lead lap five on through to the checkered flag. Early on Carignan and Ryan Oetzel battled for the lead with Oetzel taking control as they crossed the line at lap four.
