Cambridge Wisconsin Village Board discusses new buildings, trees and wastewater plant

This is a summary of what went on.

The Plan Commission met June 13. There was a discussion about a proposed development of a sixteen apartment building complex on Highway 12 behind The Family Resturant and The Fairway Tavern. Objections because there is no clear access to the property as it is behind other businesses. There are no sidewalks adn there are issues with the sewer and water.

The Library Board of Trustees met June 1. Sande related these are exciting times with the new library coming. He asked if anyone would be interested on being on the library board. Waller said he was interested, but had to check his schedule.

The Licensing Committee met June 14. Operator’s licenses to serve or sell alcohol and cigrarettes have to be renewed annually. A number fo operator’s licenses were approved for renewal at the village board meeting of June 17. Several licenses were renewed for local Cambridge Wisconsin businesses and some are pending.

The Trees and Parks Committee met June 9. There was an update on the “Planting Cambridge Wisconsin” project. This is part of the Grant Program Implementation, 2005. Committee member Larry Olson made a motion to apply for a grant for 2006. It was stated a letter of intent to apply for an Urban Forestry Grant for 2006 will be sent to The Department of Natural Resources.

A number of other issues were raised at the committee meeting. They were discussed and voted on by the village board under new business.
