Snowballs Launch Club Into Record Books

Chicagoland residents rarely wish for cold weather and large snowfalls. Yet, that’s just what members of the Wauconda, Illinois, Lions Club hoped for when planning a massive snowball fight. In fact, the club set a Guinness World Record for hosting the world’s largest snowball fight on January 29, 2005. The snow show-down attracted 3,027 participants, beating the previous record of 2,473 snowballers set by a small town in Switzerland in 2003.
