After the Tsunami, Lions/LCIF Rebuild

by Jay Copp
In the North Aceh province of Indonesia, those left homeless by the tsunami dwell in open tents at overcrowded refugee camps. In April, 100 families moved into homes built by Lions. The 100 wooden homes, all with two bedrooms, are believed to be the first built by a non-governmental organization in Indonesia after the disaster. Other charitable groups have been stifled by bureaucratic red tape and the inability of government officials to coordinate the massive rebuilding needed, according to news reports.
