We serve to raise awareness of our local, national and global priorities. By extending a helpful hand to local charities, non-profits, and other organizations we strive to improve the overall quality of life in our communities.

Club Projects

Here are some of our ongoing community service projects

Refractive errors can be easily corrected with eyeglasses, yet millions living in low and middle income countries lack access to basic eye care services. Lions have recognized the urgent need for corrective lenses and collect usable glasses in their communities to support the Lions Recycle For Sight Program.

The World Health Organization estimates that 360 million people worldwide have disabling hearing loss. However, current annual production of hearing aids meets less than 10% of the global need.

The Hearing Aid Recycling Program (HARP) enables Lions to provide affordable, refurbished hearing aids for individuals with limited financial resources.

One of the ways the Cambridge Area Lions Club serves our community is through our commitment to environmental stewardship, which is a global priority for Lions Clubs International. We've proudly adopted sections of Highway 134 and Highway 12, taking on the important responsibility of roadside clean-up. Our dedicated members volunteer their time twice a year, in the spring and the fall, to ensure these vital roadways remain clean and beautiful for everyone. This commitment extends beyond mere symbolism; it's a hands-on, team effort to better our community.

Did you know your grocery shopping at the Cambridge Piggly Wiggly can directly benefit the Cambridge Area Lions Club? We collect your Cambridge Piggly Wiggly shopping receipts, then submit the receipts to Piggly Wiggly who generously donate a percentage of the total sales back to our Lions Club. Bring your receipts to the next Club meeting or give your receipts to any Lions member to bring to a meeting.Your participation, no matter how small, adds up to a significant impact for our community.

The Cambridge Area Lions Club supports our local schools and students. We actively participate in a variety of meaningful educational initiatives and events throughout the year.
